The scuttlebutt is that President Bush may soon be looking for a new Attorney General. While Don Rumsfeld and his bungled war plan withered criticism for years, Gonzales has been pushed to the brink in a matter of weeks, and for issues that few seem to clearly understand. Yes, we know that it’s all over the firing of eight federal prosecutors. Yet what’s specifically bothering Congress on both sides of the aisle is a little harder to pin down.
