When Pavarotti Met the Godfather of Soul

| Category: Music, Video - Arts & Culture | |

We’re hardly breaking any news by mentioning that Luciano Pavarotti has passed away. But we wanted to offer a little media tribute nonetheless. It would be easy to post a video of Pavarotti singing with Plácido Domingo and José Carreras. Yet, we’re going to take things in a slightly different direction. Pavarotti sang with many others, and they were not always the most expected pairings. He sang with U2, Queen (sans Freddie Mercury), the soul singer Barry White, Ricky Martin, and Lou Reed. But my favorite odd coupling is Pavarotti singing “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” with the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. Check it.

Thank you Dan, this was just so good. And proves that real talent is real talent, whatever the setting, style or genre.
